* For the purpose of the story’s plot, everyone will have their alternate jobs and Akashi will be the boss of a huge successful company and for the sake of it, he has his own house as well.

“Mr. Akashi, here are the reports you requested for the project,” you said as you handed him a folder, a forced smile on your face.

“Just place it on my desk. I’ll look over it after I finish this,” Akashi said as he continued to type, not glancing away from his laptop’s screen as he continued to type.

“Right…” Your eye twitched before quickly placing the folder onto his desk. You noticed his typing came to an abrupt stop, his crimson eyes directing their gaze to you in a heartbeat. You tried hard to keep a smile on your face as you turned your head to face him. “Is there something else you need, Mr. Akashi?” He sighed as he slipped off his glasses.

“Ms. (Last Name), you could do better to hide your annoyance,” he said, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. However, he didn’t smile as he stared at you. You flinched at his words and glanced away.

“Mr. Akashi, is there anything else you need me to do before I leave?” you asked, your eyes glancing back and forth from the wall off to your side and back at him.

“Yes. Bring me a cup of coffee,” Akashi said as he returned his gaze on the screen and continued typing. You glanced at the white mug next to him. There was another pause in typing, but this time, he didn’t look up. “It’s cold now.”

“…”

“Ms. (Last Name), redo this report,” you heard someone say behind you, causing you to stop abruptly in your typing to look back.

“Redo?” you inquired in a soft voice, raising an eyebrow. A smile was on the redhead’s face as he handed you the folder you gave back to him earlier. “What’s there to redo? I checked over it five times before handing it in to you.” You narrowed your eyes as you stared into his crimson ones. His smile didn’t falter once as he tossed the folder onto your desk, the folder landing perfectly in front of you.

“I said redo it, Ms. (Last Name). You’re not going to disobey orders from your boss, right?” Akashi said in a taunting tone.

“…No…”

“Then I’m sure you’ll be happy to redo the report as I asked,” he said as he motioned to the folder. “Right, Ms. (Last Name)?” You forced on a smile as you crossed your legs and arms.

“I’d be happy to, Mr. Akashi,” you lied as you turned your chair to face him. “It will take a bit of time, but there isn’t a problem with time, right?”

“I’m glad you understand, Ms. (Last Name),” Akashi said before he headed back to his office. After he was out of earshot, your smile turned into a frown. Your right hand was balled up into fist as you slammed it down onto your desk next to the folder.

“Typical alpha.”

You picked up the printed the finished report and placed it in a folder, picking up your binder as well as you headed to Akashi’s office. You knocked on the door to his office, waiting for his consent to enter. You didn’t hear anything.

“Mr. Akashi, this is (Last Name). I need a minute to speak to you about something.” He didn’t reply again. You sighed as you pushed the glass door in, saying, “I’m coming in.” Your eyes widened when you saw the redhead’s eyes closed as he sat comfortably in his chair. You let out a soft sigh as you walked up to his desk and placed down the report you finished redoing. You glanced over at your boss, watching as he breathed in and out at a slow, peaceful pace. You reached over his desk and brushed a lock of hair out of his eyes. “If you’re going to sleep in here, someone might take advantage of you…” you mumbled softly. You flinched when a hand latched onto your wrist.

“I highly doubt that, Ms. (Last Name),” you heard Akashi say. You glanced into his now open eyes. You forced on another smile.

“Mr. Akashi, I finished redoing the report,” you said. Akashi picked up his glasses and placed put them back on. He picked up the folder with the report in it and opened it. He scanned through the pages, a frown becoming apparent on his face.

“You didn’t really put in any effort in this, did you? Redo it again,” he said as he closed the folder and slid it across his desk to you.

“But–!”

“Redo it,” he repeated again. You sighed as you opened your binder and pulled out a piece of paper and slammed it down on his desk over the report. He stared at it before returning his gaze on you. “A letter of resignation.” You smiled.

“I’m glad you know what it is, Akashi,” you said as you quickly took off your ID and twirled it a bit before tightening your grip on it. “The ID’s off, so you listen to me. I’m sick and tired of you ordering me to do things for you. I slaved over that report for the past few days and you kept asking me to redo it. I skipped lunch to do that report as well! What the hell is wrong with that report?!” you shouted as you slammed your ID onto your letter, your eyes glaring hard into his.

“Ms. (Last Name), you know I won’t accept a report if it isn’t done perfectly,” Akashi said, now showing any signs of amusement. You narrowed your eyes further as your frown deepened. “That’s why I want you to redo it.”

“You and your perfectionist traits. I quit this job!” you declared as you stomped out of his office, slamming the door behind you.

“Now I’ve gone and done it!” you cried as you sat on the park bench later that day. “What in the world is wrong with me?! Now I don’t even have a job… How am I supposed to pay my rent?”

“I’m sure if you ask politely, Akashi-kun will give you back your job,” a monotonous voice said. You blinked as you looked down in front of you, recognizing the familiar mess of blue hair.

“Kuroko?!”

“(Name)-chan, I heard that you quitted your job and caused quite a ruckus in the office,” Kuroko said as he got up from his squatting position. “(Name)-chan, I’m going back to take care of the kids on their field trip to the park. Apologize to Akashi-kun, and he’ll probably give you your job back,” the blunette said before returning to gather the roaming children.

“Apologize, huh… As if that’s ever going to happen after what I did this morning…”

You sighed as the rain pelted at the back of your head as you stared down at your feet, still sitting on the same bench since the afternoon when you met Kuroko. You sighed as you thought over your remaining options of how to make money. You weren’t going to last very long without a good income to support yourself. You buried your face in the palms of your hands, propping them up on your knees. You then noticed that there wasn’t any rain pouring on you and looked up. Your eyes widened.

“You’re going to catch a cold at this rate, Ms. (Last Name),” the familiar voice said. You blinked as you took in what you saw before you. There he was, holding an umbrella over you and another one over his own head. He was still in his suit and he hasn’t taken his glasses off yet despite already leaving work. He wore a soft smile on his face. “Take the umbrella.”

“Mr. Akashi–!”

“It’s ‘Akashi’, isn’t it? You said so yourself this morning,” the redhead said as handed you the umbrella. You huffed as you turned away.

“Is this your way of showing me pity? I don’t need it, for your information,” you stubbornly said as you held the umbrella he gave you to him as if asking for him to take it back. “I’m fine on my own.”

“You’re not an employee of the Akashi Company anymore since you’ve said so yourself. I have no reason to pity you nor do I have a reason to keep you healthy to make sure you do your job right. People make mistakes, but not my people. However, you’re not part of ‘my people’ anymore, are you? I believe that I can treat you like a human being rather than an employee,” Akashi said as he held the umbrella you gave back over your head, keeping the rain from pouring down on you again. “After all, I don’t harbor any affection or pity for my employees.” You clicked your tongue as you grabbed the handle of the umbrella out of his hand and kept the canopy of the umbrella over your head.

“Fine. I’ll accept your compassion,” you mumbled. There was an uncomfortable silence between the two of you and it stayed like that until you decided to speak up. “Aren’t you going home any time soon?”

“You’re one to talk, Ms. (Last Name). You’re not planning to go home either, are you?” you heard him say. Though, rather it sounding like a question, it sounded more like statement. You turned your head to look at his crimson eyes, wondering why he knew that. “I know everything there is to know about my employees, former or not. The neighboring ladies will give you an earful once they find out that you quitted your job.” You let out a sigh as you faced your feet once more.

“It’s like going to hell and back again,” you murmured as you rubbed your arm with a hand to fight against the cold rain. You then felt something warm being placed onto you. Your eyes widened as you looked up at Akashi before they narrowed at him. “I don’t need your jacket. It’s not that cold.”

“I’m impressed. You don’t mind other people seeing your bra through your white dress shirt?” he inquired in a somewhat teasing tone. Blood rushed to your face as you held a strong grip on the jacket with a hand, so that it wouldn’t slip off.

“…Thanks,” you said quickly.

“We’re going to my home. I’ll get you something warm to drink and get you a change of clothes,” Akashi said as he turned and began walking. You didn’t get any time to protest and simply just stood up and followed him.

“You’re not going by car like you usually do?” you pondered out loud as the two of you treaded side by side.

“They weren’t available today,” he simply stated. You gazed at him from the corners of your eyes, thinking back to earlier in the morning when you proudly walked out of the work building.

“Liar,” you breathed out as you took a step.

“But I believe I’m the better one out of the two of us,” you heard Akashi say as he walked in long strides, quickly getting ahead of you. You soon realized this and quickened your steps. You then tripped on your heels. You prepared for the worst, which was falling flat on your face, but a pair of strong arms wrapped around your waist and prevented you from falling. “You’re as clumsy as ever.” You silently pouted as you regained your balance. Akashi sighed as he closed his umbrella, shoving it in your other hand.

“Akashi, what are you doing?!” you exclaimed as you felt yourself being lifted and carried bridal style.

“(Name), just be quiet.”

“Hey, who are you to call me by my first name?!” You flinched when you saw his eyes darken at your words. “Sorry…” you apologized in a soft voice as you let him continue to carry you to his home whilst you held an umbrella over the two of you.

You sipped out of a mug of hot chocolate, enjoying the warmth of the liquid as you watched TV. You were now changed into Akashi’s clothes which consisted of a t-shirt and long pants; both of which were too big for you. You also had a towel over your head.

“(Name), I thought I told you to dry your hair,” you heard Akashi say behind you. You tilted your head back to stare up at him. “You’re going to catch a cold.”

“I won’t,” you said stubbornly with a slight frown.

“(Name).”

“I told you I won’t catch a cold, so get off my case already,” you insisted. The redhead sighed as he sat down behind you and pulled you onto his lap. You began to kick and tried to pry his arms off your waist. “Akashi, what are you doing?! Let me go!”

“Stop struggling or else I’ll cut off all your hair so you won’t have to worry about getting sick again,” he threatened, easily making you settle down. He then reached up and moved the towel on your head to dry your hair. “Your shoulders are stiff. Just relax, (Name). I don’t plan on doing anything to you…” Yet.

“Right…” you breathed out as you relaxed your shoulders a bit and leaned onto his chest, feeling a bit uncomfortable with it at first.

“Akashi, shouldn’t you be getting to work?” you asked as you walked down the stairs from the guest room. You covered your mouth as you yawned, slowly taking steps down the stairs.

“Today’s a day off. If anything comes up, I’ll work from here,” he said calmly as he continued eating his breakfast. You frowned at his response as you quickly approached the dining table and took a seat across from him.

“Is it because I’m taking refuge at your home?” He fixated his gaze on you. You slammed your hands down on the table and glared at him. “I’ll have you know, I can take care of myself per–”

“(Name). You’re annoyingly loud this morning,” he began as he stopped eating for a little bit. “As a former employee of the Akashi Company, I have reason to believe that you are able to protect yourself, seeing as I have made sure that all of our employees got training for self defense in case anything happens. Is that not right?”

“…”

“I’m glad you understand that I’m always right, (Name).”

“Jerk.”

“Jobless runaway.”

“…”

You sighed as you made your way to your apartment, looking around and breathing in the familiar scent of the apartment complex. Then, you arrived at your door. You blinked and pulled the taped paper down in order to read it better. Your eyes widened at the words on the paper.

’Dear Ms. (Last Name),

Your rent is due in three days. If you do not pay within the designated time, you will be moved out.’

“Hah… I was too rash that day…” you mumbled to yourself as you leaned on your back on your door, slowly sliding down. You planted your face in your arms as you pulled your knees in, your hand crumpling the paper. “Damn Akashi and his tyrant ways!”

“I don’t take kindly towards being ‘damned’ by you, Ms. (Last Name),” someone said beside you. You instantly froze and slowly, fearfully looked to your side. You gulped when you noticed how dark his eyes looked as he stared back at you.

“Since when…?”

“You don’t have a job, and now you won’t be having a home to return to either. What are you going to do, (Name)?” Akashi inquired as he watched you think over your remaining options. “Live with me.” You blinked.

“Akashi, that’s not–”

“I don’t recall ever giving you an option,” Akashi stated, causing you to huff as you stood up. You crossed your arms as you stared at him in an annoyed manner.

“I believe I have some rights, Akashi. Just because you know how to charm a lady and control your employees like puppets, does not mean you have the ability to control me and how I wish to live my life. I am no longer an employee of your company which means you should have no control over me,” you said as pointed rudely at him on the last sentence. You frowned when you noticed how his smile never once faltered ever since he got here. “What’s with that smile?” He handed you a slip of paper. You stared at it with suspicion before moving your gaze on him. You snatched the paper out of his hand and read it.

’Dear, Ms. (Last Name),

Thank you for choosing to live at our apartment complex. We hope you will have a happy lifestyle in your new home.’

“You planned this, didn’t you?!”

“Heh.”

“Why you–!” You then felt Akashi pull you up onto his shoulder, carrying you down the hallway of the apartment complex. You angrily slammed your fists into his back repeatedly, shouting out incomprehensible words as you kicked your legs.

You yelped when you were placed on the cold covers of Akashi’s bed. Your wrists were then pinned down on either side of you as Akashi stared down at you with his crimson eyes, a smirk on his face.

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this, (Name),” he murmured huskily as he leaned down slowly. You tried kicking at him, but unfortunately, it didn’t have much of an effect. You glared at him.

“You devil! I can’t believe you’re forcing me into this!” you growled as you tried to loosen his grip on your wrists.

“I’m not forcing you if you like it,” Akashi pointed out. “You’re blushing a crimson red; just how I like it.” You opened your mouth to say something, but could only sputter out nonsense as your face heated up more, if that was even possible. “Relax, I won’t do anything to you yet.” Akashi rolled over to your side, his arms now encircled around your waist, holding you close to him. “Just stay like this for the rest of the night.”

“You’re not going to do anything, right?” you questioned him, wanting to make sure you heard right.

“(Name).”

“Alright, alright, but just this once!” you said as he pulled you into his chest. You hated to admit it, but you enjoyed his warmth and if you weren’t on guard at the time, you probably would’ve melted in it. You glanced at him, gazing at his handsome face. If anything, Akashi looked like an angel when he was asleep…

…And even for just a moment, you felt safe in his arms.

“Why am I the one doing the cooking around here?!” you exclaimed as you slammed your hand down at the dining table, the other holding a ladle. Akashi just quietly continued eating his breakfast that he made you cook.

“(Name), you’re loud as always,” the redhead stated as he finished up the last remnants of his meal. “We’ve already discussed this, (Name). I’ll be going to work and you’ll be a housewife. There shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve explained it in a straightforward manner just for you.”

“I knew I can’t stand this personality of yours, Akashi!” Akashi just picked up his suit jacket that hung on the chair he sat on and put it on quickly. He then picked up his briefcase and headed to the entrance where he put on his shoes. You crossed your arms as you watched the redhead prepare to leave.

“(Name). Come here,” he ordered as he waited patiently at the entrance. You glared at him, but followed orders anyway. He placed a hand on your head as he leaned down and pecked your lips unexpectedly. Your eyes widened at the sudden gesture and blushed heavily. “My, a beautiful crimson as always, my empress.”

“I’m not your empress,” you retorted.

“A bad liar as always, I see,” Akashi said as he leaned down and stole another kiss from you before turning to leave. Once the door closed, you immediately felt your legs go weak and crumbled to the floor.

“D-Damn you and your sneaky tactics, Akashi! Tyrant!” you yelled out as you threw the ladle you were holding at the door. After a while, you calmed down and went to pick up the ladle to put in the sink. You cleaned up the dining table and washed the dishes before heading over to the sofa and turning on the TV to pass the time. You noticed there was a recipe book on the shelf the TV was on and went to pick it up. You opened it at the bookmarked page and something slipped out. Curious, you picked it up and read it.

’(Name), make this for dinner and say ‘I love you’ when I get home. Also, from now on, refer to me as ‘Seijuro.’

~ Seijuro’

“Stupid tyrant! Who does he take me for?!” you growled as you got changed to buy ingredients for tofu soup.

You certainly were wrapped around his finger.
